The Steps for Special Time Gaming Adventures
Easier endings begins with connection. Here are five steps to building connection with your gamer.
- OFFER SPECIAL TIME
Let your child know you would love to learn about the video games they play. Suggest a time that would work. -
SET A TIMER
Decide how much time you can spend on video games with your child. Set a timer for half of that. -
LET THEM LEAD
Give them your full, enthusiastic, curious attention. Things they may want to do: Watch a video of their favorite gamer, play as you watch, tell you about their favorite game. Bonus level - Let them teach you to play! -
WRAP IT UP
Let them know Special time is over and make a plan for their leaving the game. Have a conversation with them. Ask when a good stopping point is, and help them come up with a plan for ending their game time. -
LEVEL UP
